Neil Woodford (pictured) has furthered his venture back into financial services by announcing the launch of W4.0 — an investment strategy platform.

A year ago, the former ‘star’ fund manager re-emerged with a weekly economics newsletter after a period out of the spotlight following the demise of the Woodford Equity Income fund.

Last year, the FCA announced it would take action against Woodford and his firm Woodford Investment Management for their role in the closure of the fund, which led investors to suffer losses and remain trapped in the fund. The outcome of the investigation is yet to be publicly announced.

The W4.0 product will be a subscription-based service, offering subscribers access to investment strategies and ideas created by Woodford, which individuals can then tailor and use on an existing platform, Sipp, Isa or brokerage account.

“Because we’re not bound by the constraints of fund launches or minimum sizes, I can share more strategies, more ideas, and more updates than would ever be possible in a traditional fund structure,” Woodford said.

“At its heart, W4.0 is a community platform — a place for investors who believe in research-led, long-term investing. I’ll be there too, sharing insight through video, writing, live sessions, and active discussion groups.”
