Matt Haynes will be based in the company’s Jersey office in the newly created role, and will be responsible for supporting the “organic” growth of the group.

The Isle of Man-based trust company said Haynes will develop client and intermediary initiatives, and new business opportunities throughout its 14 global offices.

He will oversee the company’s group business development team and report to group commercial director Kevin O’Connell.

Haynes joins the company from international wealth structuring company Hawksford, where he was director of business development. He has also held senior business development roles at Ogier and Barclays Wealth Structuring.

On the appointment, O’Connell said: “As a group, we have grown substantially in the last two years and we have reached the point where we are now in the desired locations across the world and are focusing on consolidating and growing the business organically.”

First Names Group is a global, independent provider of trust, fund and corporate administration services, with over 600 employees and offices in Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Cyprus, Switzerland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Ireland, UK, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, the British Virgin Islands and Japan.

Earlier this month, the company agreed terms to acquire Jersey trust and corporate services provider Seymour Trust Company, marking its seventh acquisition since its management buyout in July 2012.

Following the acquisition, Seymour’s 30-strong team will move in to First Names’ St Helier office as part of its Private Client Service Line. This will bring the company to a total of 650 employees across 14 locations worldwide.

The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.
