Ellis had joined Old Mutual International in 2012 to help grow and develop the business in the region. He had come from Allianz, where he was regional head of Asia, Life and Health.

“We wish him well in his future career,” Old Mutual International said in a statement.

“We are currently going through the process of finding a successor. We are fortunate to have Craig with us until the beginning of June to help ensure a seamless transition” it said.

Ellis, who joined when the company was known as Skandia International, was responsible for operations, regulatory functions and strategic relationship development at OMI.

His departure comes just over a year after Chris Ivinson, the company’s head of sales in Singapore, left to “pursue other career opportunities”. Ivinson had been promoted to the newly created role of head of sales in the city state at the same time as Ellis was appointed region head.
