Michael Jones to leave Janus Capital International

The head of European financial institutions and intermediary business at Janus Capital is to leave.

It is understood that the decision was made by Janus Capital International, the company’s non-US arm, rather than Jones, although a spokesman for the company says that he does have another job to go to.

He was not able to confirm when Jones will be leaving although he did say that that the President of Janus Capital International, Augustus Cheh, who joined at the end of March, will take on Jones’ roles and responsibilities while they are currently reviewing the options available to them.

Jones has spent more than 25 years in the investment management industry, in large and small institutions, covering institutional, retail and wealth management roles.

He joined Janus Capital in September 2008 from Fidelity where he was responsible for UK wholesale and retail distribution. Prior to this he spent ten years at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, finishing there as managing director and head of UK third-party and retail business.
