Based in Munich, Steve Haswell joins the company from US money management firm MFS Investment Management, where he held a variety of positions including head of global sales and head of continental Europe.

The company said Haswell has experience in the asset management industry across sales and distribution on a global level across every asset class.

Head of distribution & marketing, Scott Coleman, said: “[Haswell’s] focus will be across all of EMEA, where we have significant momentum, and in markets we can further develop as we have a great opportunity to capitalise on our long-term investment performance.”

Haswell added: “I’m looking forward to being back in the region, building on the success of our current client base and securing new clients at a very exciting time for institutional investors in Europe.”

In December last year, Macquarie completed its acquisition of ING Investment Management Korea from ING group.

The Korean business of ING Investment and its employees now operate as part of Macquarie Investment Management’s global investment management business.
