It has had a presence in Hong Kong for the last five years

International law firm Charles Russell Speechlys (CRS) has set out plans to open an office in Singapore in 2023 to expand its footprint in Asia Pacific.

Managing partner Simon Ridpath confirmed to International Adviser that the firm’s international growth plans for next year include the Lion City.

“In line with our strategic objective to service private capital clients with international capability from the world’s international financial centres, Singapore has a well-established investment model that is attractive and stable for investors from across Asia Pacific,” he said.

“We have established a strong presence in Hong Kong over the last five years, and our success there has accelerated our desire to open in Singapore. We already act for a number of clients and intermediaries based in Singapore and by establishing an office there, we will be able to offer support to those clients from within the jurisdiction.

“We are applying to the regulator with an ambition to open during the first half of 2023.”
