Panel Portfolio is an internal service which gives clients access to Killik’s full cross asset-class capacity – and can be allocated directly to a range of services spanning bonds, global equities, mid and small-cap equities, emerging markets or alternative investment funds.

The client will then be allocated a “best of breed” team of relevant in-house investment specialists according to their specific choices.

Asset allocation

Those investment specialists will then allocate assets – depending on what the client chooses – between the following: a cash panel, a fixed income panel, large cap global equity panels, a mid-cap with yield panel, mid and small cap for investors seeking growth in mid/small cap companies, a geographically focused panel; alternative strategy panel; and an AIM Inheritance Panel.

Any panel is available individually.

Each portfolio team consists of a broker as the single point of contact to the firm and markets expert responsible for allocation and review of assets held in various markets (panels/teams). They are working alongside a wealth planner who will consider a client’s risk profile and long-term financial goals.

Killik & Co charges a flat fee of 1% of the portfolio value per annum plus a commission of £30 on each transaction.

Diversification and transparency

The Panel Portfolio is created in response to the growing demand of Killik & Co’s clients for increased diversification and transparency while also minimising costs, according to the firm.

“The ability to tailor a dynamic asset allocation strategy for clients in-house makes it easier to adapt a portfolio to changing circumstances as well as avoid the layering of opaque charges often incurred when an investment manager outsources part of a portfolio,” it said in a statement.

“Diversification and minimising charges are two of the most important factors when building a successful long-term portfolio and we have launched Panel Portfolio to help clients access the expertise of our in-house team of specialists in each market – be it fixed income, global equities or small-caps – in a transparent cost-effective way as they journey through life,” said Paul Killik, senior executive officer and founder of Killik & Co.
