Muirhead, who has over ten years of senior management experience in international life industry, most recently ran LM Consulting which she established in 2012 to offer strategic support to businesses on the Isle of Man.

She was previously international business director and executive director at Capita, where she was responsible for the transition of business from Zurich to Capita as well as the implementation of the corporate governance structure.

Other senior roles in her career included being chief operating officer at Zurich Financial Services and executive director of its international life assurance businesses.

Robin Bigland, chairman of IOMA Group, said Muirhead had a strong commercial awareness as well as a proven track record in all operational aspects of both the onshore and offshore industries.

“Her appointment will not only strengthen the team, it will also help us implement our plans for the future growth of our business. The recent launch of the Legacy Gift Plan demonstrates the first step of a number of innovative products that we have lined up, and we are sure that Linda will be central in the developments going forward.”

Muirhead joins after a raft of senior management changes at the Isle of Man headquartered firm.

Mike Batey, director life and pensions, left in April this year, while in February, IOMA appointed two non-executive directors, Rupert Cottrell and Ken Watterson, and promoted Philip Scales to group chief executive. IOMA’s long standing chief executive Nigel Wood left in August 2013.

Muirhead will be based in both of IOMA’s two offices, in the Isle of Man capital Douglas and its Cavendish Square offices in central London.

IOMA Group had assets under management and administration of £5.5bn as at January 2014.
