Nicola Guffogg has been named income tax assessor on the Isle of Man, succeeding Malcolm Couch, who is leaving the post after eight years at the end of next month to become the island's chief financial officer.

As reported, Couch is replacing Mark Shimmin, who is retiring as CFO.

Guffogg has been deputy assessor in the IoM Treasury’s Income Tax Division for the last six years. Originally from Northwest England, she is a UK solicitor and chartered tax adviser by training. She began her career at the London law firm, Slaughter and May, and later worked for Barclays.
