The company previously outsourced assistance to First Assistance. It is retaining a business relationship with First Assistance and complementing this with the new inhouse service.
Marie-Christine Exon-Galle has been appointed to develop and head the division. Exon-Galle said the division became operational last September but waited to launch so that staff could be trained and systems tested.
“We wanted to be sure that the integration of our assistance services within the remit of the InterGlobal Assistance was fully embedded and tested before we formally launched the new service.
"Our systems have now been thoroughly tested and our team of assistance specialists rigorously trained and we have been operating in a live environment for a period of six months. We are already helping around 350 InterGlobal members per month with a variety of medical emergencies,” she said.
