In the interim Patrick Sumner, the firm’s head of property, had moved to Singapore to take on his responsibilities though he has now moved back to the London office. Gibson will take up his role on 1 March, based in Singapore, and will report to and work alongside Sumner in the London office before relocating in a month’s time.

He will manage the Henderson Horizon Asia-Pacific Property Equities Fund as well as the Asian investments within the Global Property Equities Fund and other institutional mandates, working with Michael Wong and Eric Khaw.

Gibson joins from AMP Capital Brookfield where he was a director and European fund manager in the indirect real estate investment team, responsible for portfolio construction and execution of a $1 billion fund. Before this, he was a European property analyst at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.
