The This is Guernsey website reports Samantha des Forges of Ernst & Young in the Channel Islands as saying, while there have been no prosecutions under the Bribery Act yet, cases investigated last year “have offered lessons and warnings on how companies may be targeted under the new regime”.

“The SFO is signalling a tougher stance after its recent travails. Its responses include looking to invest more heavily in intelligence and clarifying that its primary role is not to advise companies, but to prosecute,” said Samantha des Forges senior manager leading fraud investigation and dispute services in the Channel Islands.
