The advisory company said the appointment coincides with it being granted a license by the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority and the business’s move into a new office in the Jumeirah Lake Towers development.

Guardian director Leighton Jones thinks Hamzah will have a pivotal role to play as the business develops. He said: “This is a great time for Hamzah to take over the Dubai office and I am sure his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm will play a major role in the continuing success of the business.

“He has a great track record and has specific skills in dealing with clients from the USA who are based here in Dubai.”

Ferguson, who left in May, had worked at Guardian for around four years, having joined from PIC – part of the deVere Group – in 2010.
