GP appears in court over IFA murder plot

A Dorset doctor accused of plotting an IFA’s murder has appeared in court.

Dr David Crichton is alleged to have plotted to kill Brown Shipley adviser Andy Bolton at his home in Bournemouth, UK on 26 February this year.

The experienced IFA specialises in serving medical and academic professionals.

According to newspaper the Bournemouth Echo, the accused spoke only to confirm his name. He was granted bail until his next appearance in court on 20 December.

The 63-year-old, who has not entered a plea, is charged with “soliciting, encouraging, persuading, endeavouring to persuade or proposing to a person unknown to commit murder” and “sending electronic communications, namely emails and text messages, which conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient” between 26 July 2016 and 4 March 2017.
