The so-called Globex System, which was developed last year by the company’s in-house information technology team, headed by Mariana Kujawski, makes use of data and investment products supplied to the company by one of its main providers of investment products, Friends Provident International, and other sources, according to Global Index founder and managing director John Fleming.
The Globex System enables clients to clearly see “the performance of their investments, net of any withdrawals, the cumulative performance of the funds they’ve chosen, graphs that reveal the performance of their funds and their chosen investment plan, and even the behaviour of four benchmark indexes of their choice over the past five years”, Fleming explains.
“It is a fabulous tool, and we’re really happy with it,” he added.
“That said, we would have been happier if we had been able to buy this technology off the shelf, or had it provided to us by the financial institutions we work with.
"But no one in the market that I’m aware of gives you a truly personalised report, compiling information from 17 different sources, at the touch of a button – which is what this does.”
Fleming said he has no plans to market his new system to other advisory firms, or to offer it to a life company, but he wanted to call attention to the fact that the technology exists, and for the most part is not being widely used.
“Also, I wanted all the members of the Global Index client service team, who developed this programme, to get some well-deserved attention for it,” he added.
