Fionnuala Carvill, who most recently headed up the Commission's new innovation unit, is understood to be planning a return to the private sector, reports Guernsey Press.

Before joining the Commission in 2010, Carvill had a 25-year career in private banking, including roles at Rothschild and Bank Sarasin and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Her resignation comes after director of the investment supervision and policy division Carl Rosumek resigned from the Comission in May and assistant director Dave McCloskey stepped down as head of the Comission’s financial crime team.

Guernsey Press said a spokesperson for the Commission confirmed Carvill’s departure but denied rumours that the body’s innovation unit was now being shelved.
