FPI said the role has been created to support the company’s business growth in Singapore as well as in the wider region.
Simpson has worked with several major financial services companies in sales management positions in Asia, Middle East, South Africa and the UK. He was most recently director, head of sales and distribution at Transamerica Life.
Simpson reports to Chris Gill, general manager (SE Asia).
On the appointment, Gill said: “In his new role, Simpson will be accountable for leading our Singapore sales team and delivering business growth through strategic and profitable relationships with our distribution partners both in Singapore and the SE Asia region.”
Meanwhile, the company said it has also appointed Fung Ling Kok, Zurich’s former senior finance manager, as regulatory reporting manager.
Furthermore, Alan Quah who joined the company in 2010, has recently been promoted to the position of regional sales manager.
The company said these appointments reflect the commitment of FPI to deliver further expertise in its key markets.
FPI has been in news recently on reports that Goldman Sach has been enlisted to find a buyer for its international business.
Recently, FPI’s executive chairman John Van Der Wielen also said he does not “rule out” a scenario in which the business is sold next year.
