Bath-based advice firm Barlow and Bartlett Wealth Management has joined Quilter Financial Planning’s network as a strategic partner and appointed representative.

The firm’s co-founders, Rupert Barlow and Sarah Bartlett, said: “We believe that Quilter has everything in place to allow us to provide comprehensive wealth advice across investment, retirement, protection and mortgages for high-net-worth clients.”

Both Barlow and Bartlett, who started at their company this month, were previously HSBC stalwarts.

Barlow was a financial adviser at the bank for 17 years. Bartlett, who joined HSBC as a business specialist 22 years ago, was managing client relationships with small businesses, then moved into the role of relationship manager.

In this role, which she took up in 2013, Bartlett was responsible for a portfolio of high-net-worth clients, working alongside Barlow, who provided their financial planning advice.

Bartlett will lead on client relationship management in the newly-launched business.

This comes days after former Abrdn Financial Planning advice director Neil Messenger set up advisory firm Professional Independent Wealth Advice (PIWA), which has joined the Sandringham Financial Partners network.
