Newcastle-based financial planning firm Scholes & Brown will join Evelyn Partners’ succession programme for an undisclosed sum.
As part of the move, Scholes & Brown directors Philip Brown and Bradley Thompson, along with four other staff, will become part of Evelyn Partners’ Newcastle office.
The Scholes & Brown team has provided financial planning and investment management services to personal and corporate clients since 2003.
The scheme was set up in 2021 to give advisers nearing retirement the opportunity to migrate clients and staff to a long-term home.
Scholes & Brown is the seventh company to sign up to Evelyn’s succession programme. The other six include 2hWealthcare, Equilibrium Financial Consultancy, Explore Wealth Management, FP Solutions, Capital Risk Management and MP2 Financial.
Richard Dawes, head of strategic partnerships at Evelyn Partners, said: “After only launching our succession programme at the end of last year, it is great to be able to welcome the team from Scholes & Brown as the second firm to join our Newcastle office through the scheme.
“As with the agreement in late 2021 with the Northumberland-based Explore Wealth Management team, this means that Scholes & Brown’s clients will continue to receive a high-quality, personalised service while also benefitting from the investments we have made in our proposition and technology. The deal also demonstrates our commitment to continue growing in the north east.”
