Eigner, who was promoted from the role of deputy chairman, is the founder of Lonworld, a private finance, property and investment group.
The announcement follows the appointment of the DFSA’s former chairman, Abdullah Mohammed Saleh, to governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). As International Adviser reported in July, Saleh chaired the DFSA for four years.

Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai and president of the DIFC, also announced yesterday the appointment of the existing DFSA board members for a further three-year term.

The DFSA board comprises: Eigner, as chairman; Fadel Abdulbaqi Al Ali; Abdul Wahid Al Ulama; Apurv Bagri; Michael Blair; Robert L Clarke; Lord Currie of Marylebone; the Earl of Home; Robert Owen; J Andrew Spindler; Georg Wittich; and Paul Koster, as chief executive.
