Greg Stockton, who has been with deVere for almost 10 years, will assume the position with immediate effect and will be based in the company's Cape Town office.

As reported earlier this week, Featherby has stepped down from the role after 10 years, due to “health issues”.
As deVere’s Africa manager, Stockton will be responsible for 11 offices and lead a team of more than 250 people across the continent. Stockton will report directly to deVere Group’s founder and chief executive, Nigel Green.

“We’re delighted to confirm Greg as deVere’s new manager of Africa,” said Green.“This appointment is particularly exciting and rewarding as he moves into this role having steadily and diligently advanced his career through the company’s promotion structure from starting as a business coordinator a little over 10 years ago.

“Greg represents how, as a company, we’re committed to fast-tracking the careers of talented, successful, motivated individuals from within the organisation, wherever possible.”

On his appointment Stockton said: “Being given the opportunity to lead deVere’s operations in Africa is an incredibly exciting challenge. I look forward to working alongside Africa’s outstanding team and realising our vision to build upon an already successful region to allow us to offer our market-leading products and services to clients in every corner of the continent."

He added that deVere is looking to expand into new territories as part of a "longer-term strategic growth plane" but that at this point "ensuring the current network of offices are as efficient as possible is key”.
