Deutsche Bank WM names global head of emerging market products

Dubai-based Rajesh Mahadevan will move to Singapore in January to start the new role

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has appointed Rajesh Mahadevan as head of global products & solutions (GPS) for emerging markets to tap into anticipated growth in the region.

Reporting to Lavanya Chari, global head of GPS, he will be responsible for running the advisory business as well as capital markets, the funds group and wealth planning.

He is currently Global South Asia (GSA) Group Head of Middle East for Deutsche Bank Wealth Management.

Before joining Deutsche Bank, he ran investments and sales for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Middle East, and was also head of investment products at Citigroup.

Chari said: “We’re accelerating our growth plans in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa with new hires, technology investments and a broader range of innovative investment solutions for our clients.”

She added: “Rajesh will be an energetic driver as we expand our product offering, including our Wealth Advisory service, and accelerate our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy to help meet increasing demand from our clients to add purpose to performance.”

Rajesh Mahadevan will be supported by Wei Mei Tan and Marco Busetto, who take on joint leadership of the global Advisory and Investment Solutions (AIS) mandate.
