The appointment follows the asset management company’s push into Sweden, where it opened a representative office in the region this March. Crystal’s remit at his previous employer was to develop business and brand awareness in the Nordic region.
Prior to this, Crystal worked for Nordea in Sweden where he was in charge of establishing the firm as a tier one bank to European institutions and building the European distribution business.
Crystal’s recruitment follows the arrival of Bjorn Sandberg, head of ETF client relationships, and is part of Amundi’s plans to develop its distribution business in Europe and Asia.
Christian Pellis, Amundi’s head of global external distribution, said: “The establishment of Amundi Sweden shows the Group’s long-term commitment to forge close relationships with clients in the Nordic region.” Located in almost 30 countries, Amundi has an AUM of close to €750 billion and with over 100 million retail clients worldwide.
