Masud, who heads the corporate and investment bank coverage for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with a focus on top-tier sovereigns, sovereign wealth funds and companies, will become general manager of the Deutsche Bank AG Dubai (DIFC) branch.

The appointment is designed to build on the bank’s commitment to the region, said Ashok Aram, CEO of Deutsche Bank for MENA.

He added that Masud will take over responsibility from Salman Al Khalifa, who will leave Deutsche Bank at the end of the year to pursue opportunities outside the investment banking industry.

Masud, who has been with Deutsche Bank for 14 years, will continue as head of corporate and investment bank coverage for MENA. His appointment as chief country officer will become effective on 1 Jan, 2012, subject to regulatory approval.
