Hogan recently settled a case with the Australian tax authorities after using a tax evasion scheme set up by his adviser, and the man Hogan now accuses of having absconded with millions of dollars of his money, Philip Egglishaw.

According to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, which recently published a far reaching investigation into tax evasion by high profile people from around the world, Hogan’s advisers are taking legal action in the US alleging Egglishaw has stolen the actor’s money.

There is already a warrant out for Egglishaw’s arrest and his former partner at US based firm Strachans Philip de Figueiredo is currently serving a 2 ½ year jail term in relation to what has been described as the biggest tax evasion case in Australia’s history.

The ICIJ said, in October last year, Hogan’s legal representative in California Schuyler Moore, emailed Egglishaw’s lawyer in Geneva, Paul Gully-Hart.

“The actions of Egglishaw have now crossed the boundary of legality, and he is now engaging in criminal fraud, theft, and breach of fiduciary duty, and you are now directly aiding and abetting his criminal actions,” Moore said in his email.

“The Carthage Trust’s beneficiary [Hogan] is not going to stand idly by in the face of this theft, and he is going to take every step possible in every country possible to hold Egglishaw, Strachans, you, and your firm liable and brought to account.”
