The firm was granted an investment firm licence by the Central Bank of Bahrain in September 2008 but has been in the Middle East for over four decades with offices in places such as Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Cairo and Dubai.

Its new office is located within the World Trade Centre in Manama and will focus on serving wealthy individuals, families and corporations in Bahrain who it says are increasingly demanding a more sophisticated approach to asset allocation and access to global providers.

Bassam Yammine, co-CEO of Credit Suisse in the Middle East, said: “The Bahrain office complements our existing operations in the Middle East and strengthens our integrated banking franchise across the region.”
