Collas Crill opened its Singapore office in August 2011, and is still the only Channel Island law firm to have a presence there.
Collas Crill was formed by the merger in 2010 of Guernsey-based Collas Day with Jersey-based Crill Canavan. The company specialises in trusts and funds, and the provision to the international market of Channel Islands’ structures.
Current head of Collas Crill Singapore, Sean Cheong, who moved from Guernsey to set up the Singapore office last year, said Hinkley’s move coincided with an expansion in the firm’s trust and fiduciary services in Asia. Other appointments would follow over the next few months, Cheong added.
Cheong herself is due to return to practice in Collas Crill’s Guernsey offices “in due course”, while maintaining her ties to the region, Collas Crill said in a statement.
