Sean Cheong, a partner in Collas Crill’s Guernsey office, will relocate to Singapore to head up the new office which will practice Guernsey and Jersey law.
The firm will also offer Guernsey fiduciary services through Guernsey Trust Company, which is majority owned by partners of Collas Crill.
Singapore was the fastest growing Asian economy in 2010 and Asian stock markets and investors are benefiting from quicker rates of economic growth than are being seen in Western markets.
The announcement comes just two months after Collas Crill was formed by the merger of Collas Day in Guernsey and Crill Canavan in Jersey.
The firm has 16 partners and more than 50 lawyers and legal staff and is servicing clients from around the world, with a concentration in Jersey, Guernsey, the UK, Europe and Asia.
Collas Crill Group also includes a Guernsey trust administration and corporate management firm, Guernsey Trust Company and an intellectual property management company, Collas Crill IP Management Limited.
The Guernsey Trust Company Limited (GTC) provides trustee, fiduciary and corporate administration services to institutional clients and high net worth individuals. It also undertakes the formation and administration of trusts, companies and limited partnerships.
Collas Crill IP Management Limited provides local and international IP registration services and management and protection of existing portfolios and IP assets.
