Finch succeeds Charlie Roger, who has left the company.
In his new role, Finch is responsible for running the Guernsey front office and promoting Canaccord Genuity’s wealth management services to local and international clients, the company said.
Finch also continues to oversee the company’s offshore sales team, and manage relationships with the company’s global strategic distribution partners. Although not from Guernsey, Finch will be making a return to the island when he takes up his new role, as he was there from 1998 to 2004.
Most recently he has been based in London, although he has continued to live in the Isle of Man, to which he was posted in 2004 to run Collins Stewart Wealth Management’s local business there. He joined the company in 2002.
Rebranded in May
As reported, Collins Stewart Wealth Management formally rebranded as Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management (CGWM) on 1 May, as the acquisition of Collins Stewart by Canada’s Canaccord Financial – first announced in December 2011 – reached its final stage of completion.
Finch was with Collins Stewart for 11 years, and has had 30 years of experience in the wealth management industry.
As was the case with Collins Stewart Wealth Management, the entity now known as CGWM includes a client-facing UK office, in London, as well as the offshore-focused operation based in Guernsey, where some 108 people oversee centralised corporate functions such as compliance, IT and legal matters.
Client-facing, internationally-focused offices – all of which have now also been re-branded as CGWM – are located in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Geneva.
