Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has hired RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Tom Lane (pictured) as chief commercial officer, a newly-created position for the firm.

In the role, which focuses on client service and growth, Lane’s responsibilities will include heading the development of Canaccord’s new CRM system. The new system plans to integrate AI tools to aid wealth managers in meeting and anticipating client needs.

Lane has spent the past five years at RBC Brewin Dolphin, where he was delivery director and transformation lead. Previously, he spent over 10 years at NatWest, formerly RBS, where he became head of small business banking.

Tom’s ability to deliver strategic change at pace makes him a key hire for Canaccord at a crucial point in our growth trajectory.”

In August, Canaccord hired RBC Brewin Dolphin’s Paul Fielding as investment director for its Birmingham team, after bringing on Lorraine Armstrong from RBC Brewin Dolphin in July.
