Moving across from Singapore, where she spent four years as managing director of the Singapore and Hong Kong trust division at Barclays and another four years in a similar role at Cititrust, she will take on responsibility for the daily activities of the BVI team. She will also lead the expansion of its offering in the jurisdiction and work on strengthening relationships with third parties.

She will support JTC’s Latin America offices and work with its alliance partner Kensington Trust Group in Asia.

Bringing over 20 years’ industry experience, Le Herissier has also spent a number of years working in the private client sector in Switzerland for both Citi and Credit Suisse with particular exposure to the Asian marketplace.

The role was previously held by Ouida Nisbett, who has recently left the business.

Le Herissier said: “The British Virgin Islands continue to form a major part of JTC’s international growth strategy and I am looking forward to working with the team here, as well as with colleagues and contacts in Latin America and Asia, to evolve our range of private client and corporate services.”

Iain Johns, global head of private client services added: “[Michelle’s] knowledge and expertise will be instrumental in enhancing our global private client and company services from the British Virgin Islands with a particular focus on growing business from Latin America and Asia, where we see excellent potential.”
