Under the terms of the deal, Jubilee will sell Bupa’s international health products to customers in Kenya, including its recently launched Vital Africa product, an emergency plan which ensures customers get the emergency treatment they need, anywhere in Africa.
Wayne Close, managing director at Bupa International, said: “This partnership will enable us to deliver a tailored service for customers, providing a blend of local knowledge and international know-how. It further demonstrates our commitment to the region, and providing people in Kenya with access to high quality healthcare.”
Jubilee was established in 1937 and claims to be the largest composite medical insurer in East Africa, with a 32% market share in medical business in Kenya, 35% in Uganda and 15% in Tanzania. It also sells products in Burundi and Mauritius and has about 300,000 customers in the region.
