The BNP Paribas Flexi 1 CSI 300 Index Fund aims to replicate the performance of the CSI 300 Price Return Index, and according to BNP Paribas, is the first RQFII index fund to be launched.

BNP Paribas was one of the first asset managers in the Eurozone to be granted RQFII status by the China Securities Regulatory Commission in September 2014.

The CSI 300 Price Return Index is comprised of the 300 stocks with the largest market capitalisation and liquidity across the Chinese A share market.

“The fund provides unique access for our clients to one of the world’s most dynamic markets that is widely expected to benefit from ongoing reforms and positive sentiment, as well as recent monetary easing,” said Tino Moorrees, chief executive for the firm’s Hong Kong division.

He said the fund offers international investors a “straightforward way” to make investments in China in order to diversify their asset allocation in an area that has low correlation with other global assets.
