BNP Paribas eyes China wealth joint venture

It is reportedly discussing the deal with a bank in the country

French banking giant BNP Paribas is in talks with Agricultural Bank of China to set up a wealth management venture in the country.

According to newswire Reuters, the French bank’s investment management arm will hold a majority share in the business with AgBank’s wealth subsidiary, two sources said.

AgBank is China’s third biggest lender by assets.

International Adviser contacted BNP Paribas but the bank declined to comment.
