BMO Global Asset Management has unveiled a service designed to help financial advisers with the more complex areas of their jobs.
The primary focus of BMO Adviser Edge is ‘on the road’ technical seminars to help advisers keep on top of the issues affecting their clients’ financial planning and investment decisions, with the aim of providing insight to deliver better client outcomes.
The nationwide seminar programme will run several times a year, providing accredited structured continuing professional development (CPD).
This will include areas such as inheritance tax, trust and estate planning, retirement planning and tax, with the broader aim of offering expert advice “wherever it’s needed”.
Looking ahead, BMO plans to introduce CPD tracking through the platform in 2020.
Focus
The complimentary online BMO Adviser Edge hub focuses on three areas:
- Practice management: information on notable regulatory changes, best practice and business development ideas from external and internal industry experts;
- Financial planning: technical notes, case studies, webinars and practical guidance to support better client outcomes; and
- Investment: opinions and views on markets with timely economic analysis, a technical knowledge centre and topical articles from ESG to behavioural finance.
Navigate changes
Mark Parry, head of UK strategic and technical sales at BMO Global Asset Management, said: “Regulatory change and uncertain markets pose tough questions for forward thinking advisers and clients.
“Against this backdrop, advisers have told us they’d welcome additional support to stay on top of these rapidly changing external factors, as well as internal factors such as practice management.
“We created BMO Adviser Edge to help advisers navigate these changes.
“We’re acutely aware of the need to provide advisers with technical information that keeps them fully informed.
“Through the seminars and online platform, we’re able to provide readily available information along with in depth, face to face educational sessions.”
