Blacktower unveils DFM joint venture with Guernsey firm

To provide a ‘flexible and competitively-priced discretionary investment management service’

The Blacktower Group has partnered with Guernsey-based investment management firm Nova Wealth to launch a discretionary fund management (DFM) joint venture on the Channel Island.

The business will be called Nexus Portfolio Management (NPM) and it is aimed at complementing Blacktower’s Sicav range of funds.

NPM is a boutique offshore investment management company focusing on capital preservation and long-term capital growth through discretionary multi-asset, multi-manager portfolios and bespoke direct security investment solutions, the two firms said.

Total flexibility

The joint venture has been founded by Blacktower Group’s managing director John Westwood and Nova Wealth’s managing director Ross Preston.

“We founded NPM in order to bring a flexible and competitively-priced discretionary investment management service backed by a fifteen-year investment pedigree and an uncompromising commitment to achieving the best possible risk-adjusted returns,” said Preston.

“Our independence means we have total flexibility both in terms of pricing and investment product and our interests are fully aligned with those of our clients.”

Westwood added: “This is an exciting opportunity for Blacktower as we set to further progress into new endeavours globally, that have never been seen before in the industry.”
