The company said, as the Americas have been one of its fastest growing areas, Mitch Cox head of its Americas division, would relinquish his role as head of research and investments, and will concentrate all his time on “building a leading US wealth management franchise”.

In view of this, Barclays Wealth said Cox’s previous responsibilities would be split, with Tom Lee taking up the role of head of global banking & investment solutions (GBIS), Barclays Wealth America and Rob Brown continuing as head of GBIS, UK, EMEA and Asia. The two will also be appointed co-heads of global research and will join the Barclays Wealth Management Committee.

Furthermore, the company said its direct channels to clients will “more closely align”, with Barclays Stockbrokers joining Wealth International and Wealth Intermediaries under the management of Peter Horrell. In addition, Rupert Dickinson has been promoted to head of Barclays Stockbrokers, reporting to Horrell, replacing Des Byrne who will now concentrate solely on his role as head of core, UK & Ireland Private Bank.
