UK insurer Aviva has moved to shut down rumours regarding a scaling back of its financial advice arm.
Media reports on 3 July 2020 stated that the insurer was about to undergo a ‘strategic review’ of its financial planning business, Aviva Financial Advice, that would lead to a reduction in operations.
But the insurer confirmed to International Adviser said that reviews are “normal business practice”, and that they do not mean the advice operations are going to be phased out.
Aviva said: “Aviva Financial Advice offers access to advice to help customers navigate their retirement journey and achieve better long-term outcomes.
“We are committed to this market and to continuing to offer this important service to those who need it.
“As would be expected in any business, we do conduct reviews of our business models as required to ensure that they continue to meet customer needs.
“This is normal business practice and does not impact our commitment to this market,” the insurer added.
