The former managing director of global client solutions is moving to the Singapore office around the middle of the year when he will take on the new role of managing director, Asia Pacific & Middle East.
Callander will be based at the group’s new site, located in Raffles Quay.
He is expected to be driving the rollout of Aviva Investors Multi-Strategy solutions across the region, focusing on business development.
Callander has worked at Aviva Investors since 2011, having joined from Axa Investment Managers.
At Axa IM he was managing director, Middle East for over six years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He was responsible for the GCC region as business director and head of institutional sales to sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and quasi-governmental institutions.
Formerly based in London, he established the office in Doha in 2006 and was based in the region since then, until this latest move to Singapore.
Australia move
Karl Linder has also joined the Aviva Investors regional team as national account manager for Australasia, based in Melbourne. He will report to Brett Jackson, head of business development and will handle the Australian retail wealth management business.
Previously director of Think Financial Planners, he brings 16 years’ industry experience across protection, wealth creation and retirement planning. Prior to that, Linder spent 10 years with Perpetual in senior business development roles.
