Robinson is currently chairman of the Life Insurance Council and a member of the governing committee at the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers.
In a brief statement the company said: “Zurich wants to thank Andy for his significant contributions to the business and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
Joining Zurich International Life in 2000, Robinson began as sales manager and business development manager in Hong Kong, before moving to establish the first ever Singapore office from an Isle of Man based insurer.
He returned to Hong Kong three years later to run Zurich’s local branch from a regulatory, compliance and management perspective.
In 2010 Robinson took over independent distribution in Hong Kong, latterly taking responsibility for the proposition and marketing landscape, following the complex regulatory changes that were introduced in Hong Kong.
Robinson was a regular contirbutor to International Adviser, most recently just last month when he launched a new whole of life insurance policy called Pacific.
In an interview at the time of the launch he described Pacific, which was the first product by the company that had been redesigned to be compliant with the new regulatory environment, as “breaking the mould.”
The product was authorised by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and the Securities and Futures Commission, and is available to individuals, trustees and companies on either a single life or joint life first death basis.
