Ailo rolls out cross-border life insurance e-learning tool

It will be available for free to all its members and is CPD accredited

|

New recruits learning the ropes of the cross-boder life insurance sector will get a helping hand after the Association of International Life Offices (Ailo) released its online learning programme on 6 January 2020.

Ailo chief executive Bob Pain described the tool as a “quick start guide” to the industry, which provides an overview to either those starting out or transferring from another sector.

“This new eLearning programme is available free of charge to all Ailo members and has been developed for Ailo as part of a collaboration between the cross-border consultancy firm Acuity and eLearning specialists Governance People,” Pain added.

Members of staff employed by an Ailo member will need to create an eLearning account using their work email address to access the service.

Accreditation and certification

The programme is made up of six modules, which include:

  • What is life insurance?
  • What is cross-border life insurance?
  • How is a life insurance policy created?
  • What types of life products are there?
  • Who buys cross-border life products?
  • How are cross-border life products sold?

Each module should take around 30-40 minutes to complete and will end with a multiple-choice knowledge check.

If participants are successful, they will receive a CPD-accredited certificate of one hour for each module, which will be available to download.

People are not required to go through all six modules; but, as they are built sequentially, Ailo encourages full completion to “get the most from the programme”.

The online tool also includes a 125-key-word glossary and a printable copy of each module’s commentary for reference.

International Adviser is the official media partner of Ailo.
