The Association of International Life Offices (Ailo) has launched a student award initiative as part of its aim to support the next generation of financial professionals in the industry.
This comes as part of the trade body’s celebrations of its 35th anniversary since its inauguration in 1987.
The initiative will see Ailo sponsor students from its major jurisdictions – Ireland, Isle of Man, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg. These locations were selected to reflect the areas where Ailo has members.
The student award initiative supports Ailo’s mission to encourage and support the next generation of financial professionals in the industry.
The scheme offers students the opportunity to receive a financial donation from Ailo to help them fund their education and/or career ambitions. The four award winners will be chosen not only based on their grades, but also on their natural talent and enthusiasm for the insurance industry.
Over the next few months, Ailo will announce the winner of the award in each of the four jurisdictions where they have members. Each award winner will receive a donation of £500 ($619, €582), plus a trophy to mark their achievement.
Encouraging next gen
Bob Pain, Ailo chief executive, said: “Much has changed since Ailo was established in 1987, but promoting education about the insurance industry has been a constant thread throughout our history.
“Bearing in mind the increasing challenges young people face to fund their education, we wanted to celebrate this significant milestone by providing practical help to outstanding students.
“This initiative highlights our commitment to encouraging the next generation of talented people to join our industry.”
