Abrdn investment manager Sam Buckingham has left the firm to launch Buckingham Research — an investment consultancy business for advisers.
In a LinkedIn post, Buckingham said the firm’s aim is to support IFAs with their investment solutions, whether outsourced or managed in-house.
The firm will offer independent MPS analysis, which will aim to help advisers understand whether their MPS providers are adding value.
Buckingham is also looking to partner with a “small number of firms” to help build and manage their central investment propositions.

Buckingham has almost a decade of industry experience, having started as an investment analyst at Thomas Miller Investment in 2016.
He has previously held investment roles at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management and Kingswood Group before joining abrdn in 2023.
