Drummond was one of a series of top executives who left FPI during an 18 month period between August 2011 and the end of 2012, beginning with Rocco Sepe, managing director of Friends Life International.

Sepe was followed by Hong Kong sales director Trevor Smith, who left in January 2012, while international sales director Bob Pain and FPI managing director Paul Tunnicliffe also left shortly afterwards.

After leaving FPI, Drummond took a number of short term consultancy positions. This included at Omnilife, a Bahraini-headquartered general insurer, which he joined in April 2013 as a general manager, based in London.

In his new role at Oman Insurance, Drummond will be based in the company’s head office in Dubai and will be responsible for all life products, underwriting and product development.

In addition to the UAE, Oman Insurance has operations in Oman and Qatar, and is a general issuer in Turkey
