Aviva Investors
Aviva Investors has announced four senior appointments to its global distribution and client relations team. These new roles are based in London and will report to Louise Kay, global head of distribution and client relations.
Jennifer Stillman has been appointed global head of consultant relations. She joins from Hermes Fund Managers, where she was director, consultant relations. Stillman previously held roles at Nightscape Capital and Caliburn Capital Partners.
Tjeerd (TJ) Voskamp has been appointed head of European wholesale client solutions, and will also have responsibility for the global financial institutions team. He joins from Schroders, where he was head of the global financial institutions group. Previously, Voskamp held positions at Columbia Threadneedle and Datamonitor.
Rémi Casals has been appointed head of European institutional client solutions. He joins from Rogge Global partners, where he was head of global distribution. Casals previously held positions with Axa Rosenberg, Barclays Global Investors, and Andersen Corporate Finance.
Nigel Cosgrove has been appointed head of European institutional client relationships and service. He joins from Standard Life Investments, where he was an investment director. Cosgrove previously held positions at BlackRock and Columbia Threadneedle.
Manulife
Linda Mantia is to join Manulife as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective 3 October. She replaces Paul Rooney who has decided to leave the company. Rooney will remain with the business until December and work with Mantia to ensure a smooth transition.
Most recently, Mantia served as executive vice president of digital, payments and cards at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). She was responsible for RBC’s credit card business, as well as the bank’s mobile and online banking platforms.
Aegon
Chief financial officer Darryl Button is to step down and plans to return to the United States with his family after four years in the Netherlands to pursue other opportunities. Button was appointed to the executive board of Aegon and named chief financial officer in May 2013.
He will leave the company on 1 December. A selection process is currently underway to identify his successor.
Axa Investment Managers
Amélie Watelet has been appointed global head of human resources and a member of Axa IM’s management board effective 1 November. She replaces Anne-Sophie Curet who has decided to leave Axa IM to pursue a new opportunity.
Watelet joins from Axa Group where she has held a number of senior HR positions over the past decade, bringing with her 20 years’ HR experience.
Additionally, Laurence Boone, head of research and investment strategy at Axa IM and chief economist for Axa Group, has also been appointed to Axa IM’s Management Board. Boone joined Axa IM in March 2016 from the Elysée where she was special advisor to the French president on multilateral and European economic and financial affairs.
US Securities and Exchange Commission
Sarah ten Siethoff has been named deputy associate director of the SEC’s division of investment management’s rulemaking office. In her new role she will develop recommendations for rulemaking and other policy initiatives under the Investment Company and Investment Advisers Acts of 1940.
Ten Siethoff will also oversee the management of key rulemaking projects related to funds and investment advisers.
She has been a member of the division of investment management since 2008, serving as assistant director, senior special counsel and senior counsel in the division’s rulemaking office. Prior to her SEC service, ten Siethoff was an associate with Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton from 2000-2008.
James Hambro & Partners
Glenn Hawksbee has been named head of financial intermediary sales at James Hambro & Partners. He joins from Quilter Cheviot where he worked for 17 years, most recently as head of sales.
He has been tasked with helping the firm match its offering with the changing needs of financial advisers.
UBS Asset Management
Pedro Coelho has been appointed head of UBS ETFs Spain for UBS Asset Management. Based in Madrid, he will report to Simone Rosti, head of UBS ETFs southern Europe.
Coelho will be responsible for ETF business development and growing professional client relationships in all key market segments; including asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, private banks, family offices and independent financial advisers.
Heartwood Investment Management
Heartwood IM has appointed Paul Rose as intermediary client director tasked with developing and managing the firm’s financial adviser business solution and distribution strategy.
Rose joins Heartwood from Novia Financial where, as regional sales manager, he was initially responsible for developing the company’s presence in the north east before taking over responsibility for the north west region. Prior to that, he was national sales manager at Cofunds.
RBC Wealth Management
RBC Wealth Management has named John Younger as managing director, sales and relationship management. Younger will lead the business owners & entrepreneurs client segment team. In this role he is responsible for executing that segment’s client-focused strategy and growth.
He brings almost 25 years’ industry experience, including 18 years with RBC in its capital markets business in Toronto and New York. Since 2010, Younger has held a number of senior positions in industry and public service, including his role at the Bank of England as senior adviser to the Fair and Effective Markets Review. Most recently, he has acted as an adviser to a fintech start-up.
