The Hong Kong Securities Institute has launched a wealth management qualification in Asia.

|

The Certified International Wealth Manager qualification is a global qualification, originally launched in Switzerland in 2004, aimed at experienced financial, legal and other professionals in the wealth management industry.

Training for the qualification combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a range of fields including real estate, international and local taxation, local law and regulations as well as domestic and cross-border wealth planning.

The CIWM examination scheme comprises two levels – the CIWM Foundation Examination and the CIWM Final Examination. In cooperation with the AIWM, the HKSI is the sole provider of the CIWM Final Examination and its preparatory course in Hong Kong.

HKSI said the first CIWM final examination will be held in Hong Kong in September 2011, targeting wealth management professionals who have a minimum three years work experience and have obtained a certain level of professional qualification.
