The founding directors of the new venture include Paul Craven, a former managing director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Ian Maybury, who is an independent expert on Unilever’s DC committee, and Alexandra Noble. who has more than 30-years’ experience as an international fixed income fund manager.

Other founders include William Bourne, who was recently appointed chairman of the newly set up Local Pension Boards for the Lancashire County Pension Fund and the London Pension Funds Authority, and Eamonn O’Connor, who has held a number of board level positions in the pensions sector, including at Gissings Consultancy Services Ltd, SBJ Benefit Consultants and Bluefin.

City Noble directors already advise clients with over £80bn under management, providing a full range of investment advisory and governance services to pension schemes, charities, endowments and other institutional investors.

“We want to ensure that trustees and other institutional investors make better decisions for the members,” said Alexandra Noble, founder and managing director at City Noble.

“There is a great need for independent advice around investment strategies in a sector where consultants are increasingly conflicted,” Noble said.
