PEOPLE MOVES: Axa IM, Investec AM, Standard Life Investments

Axa Investment Managers has appointed a new head of insurance solutions for its UK operations. Investec Asset Management has added a portfolio manager to its multi-asset team, while Standard Life International has created a new head of institutional sales role in Japan.

Axa Investment Managers

Chris Price has been named head of insurance solutions UK for Axa IM. Based in London, he will be responsible for providing investment recommendations and developing customised solutions for UK insurance companies. He will report to Mathilde Sauvé, head of institutional solutions.

Price joins from Deutsche Bank where he was director of insurance asset management and head of industry solutions in the UK. Prior to this, he spent five years as financial controller at Brit Insurance Holdings, two years at Markel Syndicate Management as finance director, and three years at St Paul Syndicate Holdings as group finance director.

Investec Asset Management

Iain Cunningham has joined Investec AM as a portfolio manager in its established multi-asset team. He joins from Schroder Investment Management where he spent nine years in investment management roles within the multi-manager and multi-asset investment teams.

Cunningham will join the firm’s multi-asset investment capability, reporting to Michael Spinks, co-head of multi-asset growth.

Standard Life Investments

Mitsuo Ohara has been appointed as head of institutional sales Japan. In this newly created role, Ohara will be responsible for developing and broadening key relationships across the financial institutions, pensions and consultant segments in Japan. He will report to Neil Slater, chief executive and representative director of SLI in Japan.

Prior to joining the company, he was the head of sales and client services with Northern Trust Global Investment in Japan.

Kames Capital

Kames Capital has hired Elena Delfino as business development manager within the firm’s European wholesale distribution team. Reporting into Richard Dixon, head of continental European wholesale, Delfino will cover accounts across Italy and Spain, which includes the firm’s client base of wealth managers, financial advisers, fund-of-funds, family offices, fund platforms, and banks.

Delfino joins Kames from investment manager Neuberger Berman where she worked within the company’s sales team covering Spain, Portugal and Italy. Prior to Neuberger Berman, Delfino was a sales and account manager at Bloomberg, where she managed client relationships across Italy.

Thirdrock Group

Singapore-based investment management firm Thirdrock Group has named Eric Goh as investment strategist and senior client advisor. In his new role he will focus on the firm’s investment advisory platform and develop market views, investment strategies, and product solutions for clients.

Prior to joining Thirdrock, Goh was the head of the investor team for southeast Asia at JP Morgan Private Wealth Management and was previously the head of investment advisory at BNP Wealth Management.

Carey Olsen

The offshore law firm has added six new partners, bringing the total number across its seven offices to 49.

The new partners are Annette Alexander from the Guernsey corporate practice, Kate Andrews and James Willmott from the Jersey corporate practice, Keith Dixon and Alexa Saunders from the Jersey trusts and private wealth practice, and Jeremy Garrood from the Jersey litigation practice.
