Howard will be responsible for looking after a book of client portfolios for clients including individuals, family offices, companies and private unit trusts, with a focus on providing the best risk adjusted returns for clients.
Barclays said he will also partner with Alastair Randall, senior portfolio manager, in “growing the capacity of this business area”, and work closely with relationship managers in the ultra high net worth team to conduct client needs analysis.
Howard joins the company from Rothschild Private Management, where from 2009 he was head of UK portfolio management and sat on the company’s global asset allocation committee. Prior to joining Rothschild in 2003 he worked at Aberdeen Asset Management, Hill Samuel Asset Management and NatWest Stockbrokers.
