Raj Nandha is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and has experience in local, national and international tax issues as well as personal, corporate and trust matters for clients and tax authorities in the Isle of Man and UK.

He has previously worked as a tax manager dealing with personal, company and trust tax compliance and advisory matters.

He will report to Grant Thornton’s board of directors in the role.

On his appointment, Nandha said: “I believe I have gained the experience and knowledge over the past 13 years to assist Grant Thornton Isle of Man in expanding its business and tax offering.”

Managing director Dennis McGurgan said Nandha’s knowledge would benefit Grant Thornton’s clients.

In April, Grant Thornton and accountancy network BDO merged to create a new company with more than 30 staff members and a doubled client portfolio.

BDO’s employees moved into Grant Thornton’s offices in Douglas for the venture, and will retain their original roles.

Grant Thornton, a member of Grant Thornton International, provides accounts preparation, auditing, tax compliance and tax advice to a variety of clients. It also advises on the setting up and administration of offshore tax planning, estate planning and confidentiality.
